HMD Global is launching a new subscription service for smartphones called 'Circular'. It allows Nokia phone owners to invest in charitable and environmental causes by keeping their smartphones longer.

HMD is offering a new subscription service called 'Circular' and has also launched new Nokia smartphones that will be available with this service. HMD is launching this subscription for its smartphones to reduce electronic waste. According to a media report by Android Authority, this subscription model called "Circular" will reward owners of Nokia devices for keeping their smartphones longer. They receive credits called "Seeds of Tomorrow" that allow them to invest in environmental and humanitarian causes such as planting trees, removing plastic from rivers, or even giving people in remote areas access to the grid.

The idea behind the "Circular" subscription is to rent a smartphone directly from HMD Global for a monthly cost of between 12 and 30 euros. It allows Nokia smartphone owners to return or exchange their device at any time after three months. Credits do not count towards discounts when purchasing new smartphones. The first four Nokia smartphones are affected The longer customers keep their devices, the more credits they get to use for environmental purposes. And once the smartphone is returned, HMD will refurbish it, send it to a partner program for beneficiaries, or recycle it. Four Nokia smartphones will initially be available with HMD's 'Circular' subscription, which will arrive in the UK and Germany first, with other countries to follow later. Among the models offered will be the new Nokia G60, as well as the Nokia XR20 and Nokia T10. Later, Nokia X30 and Nokia T21 will also be added to the list.
