HMD Global, the company behind the Nokia-branded phones, has released a new iteration of its classic feature phone, the Nokia 105 (2024). This edition is essentially a rebrand of the HMD 105 launched in early June, but with the key addition of a wired earpiece in the package.

The Nokia 105 (2024) sticks to the formula that made feature phones popular – simplicity and reliability. Its compact design features a 2-inch 120×160 display, perfect for basic needs like calling and texting. Under the hood is a modest 4MB of internal memory, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB.

Despite its modest specifications, the Nokia 105 (2024) boasts surprisingly long battery life. The 1000mAh removable battery promises up to 18 days of standby time, making it a great option for users who prefer functionality over constant charging. Charging is via a microUSB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack allows for easy connection to the included earphones or any other compatible headphones.

The phone has a solid build quality with a rigid internal frame. Other features include FM radio, MP3 player, LED flashlight, up to 2,000 contacts and the classic Snake game. Available in charcoal, purple or blue.

One interesting difference compared to the HMD 105 is the slight drop in water resistance. The Nokia 105 (2024) has an IP52 rating, which offers some protection against dust and splashes of light. This is a slight step down from the HMD 105's IP54 rating. However, adding earphones to the box may be a worthwhile trade-off for some users.

While the Nokia 105 (2024) doesn't offer the internet connectivity or advanced features of a smartphone, it does serve a specific niche. It's a phone designed for basic communication, with a long-lasting battery and a durable design. There is no information yet on the price of the Nokia 105 (2024). It is only known that the device will be offered in pink, black and blue variants. Moreover, it will be available under the HMD brand in some markets. It is worth mentioning that the Nokia 105 series has been around since 2013. Its representatives have repeatedly become the most popular phones in the world at the end of a given year.
