Nokia expects to recognize the revenue related to this new patent license agreement starting in January 2024. The agreement is consistent with the assumptions Nokia has disclosed in the commentary with respect to Nokia Technologies long-term outlook in its Financial Report for Q1 issued on April 20, 2023.

K nown as the seller of Nokia phones and tablets, HMD Global has been trying to expand its business into various services over the past few years. Unfortunately, the success of HMD Global's services has apparently not been as expected, as HMD Global has now quietly dropped the HMD Mobile subscription service in the UK.
HMD Global introduced its HMD Mobile subscription service in spring 2021, when the service launched in Great Britain. It was later planned to extend the service to other market areas, but this did not happen. Now, two years after HMD Mobile opened, the service has quietly shut down.
“We are constantly evolving our strategy and have decided to no longer offer our HMD Mobile service on the market. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. All of our current customers have been directly contacted and informed of the change,"commented HMD Global.
Offered under a mobile virtual operator (MVNO) operating model, HMD Mobile subscriptions included data, phone calls and text messages packaged as subscriptions, sold with the phones on the Nokia.com online store. The subscriptions work on the network of the British provider EE.
The HMD Mobile application released to manage subscriptions made it possible to monitor the amount of data transmission used, contact customer service, change subscriptions and make monthly payments. Subscription prices started from £6.50 a month, including unlimited calls and texts in the UK and EU and 1 gigabyte of data. The higher-priced packages included up to 25 gigabytes of data transfer. HMD Global already closed the HMD Connect service, which opened in the spring of 2020, at the end of 2022. The timing of the roaming service aimed at traveling abroad was unfortunate, as the launch coincided with the start of the corona epidemic and the collapse of tourism.
