F innish company HMD has expanded its product range in select markets. The company has introduced six new headphone models for the Middle East market, which are rebranded third-party headphones.
The launch is extremely interesting, as the headphones are not completely new products, they were previously sold under one of India’s largest brands, boAt. Now, the same devices are being introduced to the Middle East market under HMD’s own name, which clearly shows the company’s intention to strengthen its position in the audio sector as well.
The new range is divided into several different uses, from lightweight earphones to active noise-cancelling options. There are actually three collections, these are DUB S, DUB X and DUB P.
The HMD DUB S60 represents the offering with Dolby Audio support, a long battery life of 35 hours and versatile equalization modes. Built-in ENC ensures clearer calls, and multipoint support makes it easier to switch between devices. All of this suggests that HMD is particularly keen to compete in the more advanced mid-range category.
Another notable new addition is the HMD DUB X50, which offers up to 70 hours of battery life and focuses on high-quality sound. The model uses DUB Platinum Sound technology, which improves sound clarity and balance.
The more compact P50, introduced alongside the X50, is aimed at users who need a simple, pocket-sized option but still want ENC call quality and low latency for gaming.
The HMD DUB P60 continues in a similar vein, but offers much more nuanced sound reproduction thanks to Bass Boost and Platinum Sound technology. The headphones connect almost instantly with the Instant Pair feature, and up to 30 hours of battery life is enough for long days.
The DUB P70, which is a step up, adds active noise cancellation and auto play/pause that reacts to whether the headphones are in your ears or not. The DUB P70 is one of the premium options in the lineup.
The flagship of the lineup will be the HMD DUB X50 Pro, which combines a long 60-hour battery life, active noise cancellation, and AI-powered ENC calls with multiple microphones. The headphones also support multipoint connections, low latency mode, and ear sensors. Overall, the X50 Pro is clearly designed for the user group that wants a premium package.
HMD’s new products say a lot about the company’s future strategy. While building its own phone lineup, the company aims to strengthen its identity in the consumer market with a diverse device system. Of course, it's an Indian company instead of HMD, so HMD didn't develop the companion app for the headphones, for example.
No exact pricing or availability details for the DUB headphones have been announced yet. The headphones are listed on the company's website for the Middle East market, so there's no information about European availability.
