KIANEWS HMD Global has achieved the Ecovadis 2021 Gold Sustainability Rating

H MD Global announced yesterday that it is now one of the top 6% of companies in the EcoVadis audit. As a result, global sustainability rating provider EcoVadis awarded HMD Global the 2021 Gold Sustainability Medal.
EcoVadis, the world’s largest and most trusted business sustainability rating provider, bases each company’s commitment to work and human rights, sustainable procurement, ethics and the environment. The Gold rating represents an advanced structured and proactive sustainability approach, as well as detailed implementation information on commitments / policies and tangible actions on key issues.
EcoVadis medals are awarded based on the company's seven management principles and 21 CSR (corporate social responsibility) standards, on topics such as the environment, ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement. Each company receives a score of 100. EcoVadis then divides the company into four levels, depending on the relative ranking of the company’s overall score. Platinum is the first tier and consists of the first 1% of companies with a total score between 73 and 100. Gold is the next level, made up of the next 5% of companies, with a minimum of 66 points. The next 25% will be placed in the Silver category with a score between 54 and 65. Bronze medalists get to the next 50% with a minimum of 45 points. The scores are valid for one year, after which companies need to re-evaluate the quality of sustainability management.
