J ean-Francois Baril, CEO of HMD Global, has released an overview of the new HMD brand’s core phone offering. The company is unveiling three models: the HMD 100, HMD 101, and HMD 102.

Baril said that traditional phones have played a key role in HMD’s strategy since the company was founded. He said the collection now unveiled reflects where HMD comes from and what it wants to stand for, which is purity, reliability, and durability.

"Today, I'm excited to introduce a new family of hashtag #HMD phones that reflects exactly who we are and where we come from.

For nine years, feature phones have been at the heart of HMD. They are the foundation of our mission to make technology simple, trusted and built for real life.

Our new hashtag #HMD102 leads the range. It is stylish, sturdy and strong on value, with everything people expect from a great phone: clear calls, dependable texts, long battery life and everyday essentials like a camera and MP3 player.

Alongside it, hashtag#HMD101 brings music lovers a durable device with calls, texts and an MP3 player in one. And hashtag #HMD100 focuses on pure simplicity, delivering the essential experience millions rely on every day.

Together, these phones show what we stand for.

Quality without compromise, durable design and honest value that lasts.

Super proud of the teams behind this work, and proud to continue innovating in a category that remains vital for so many people around the world. said Jean-Francois Baril HMD Global Oy, and Founder

The HMD102 tops the lineup, which the manufacturer says has a stylish and durable design, long battery life, and essential features like clear calls, texting, a camera, and an MP3 player.

The HMD 101, on the other hand, is aimed squarely at music fans, as it combines an MP3 player, calls, and messaging in a durable package. The third model in the series, the HMD 100, offers the simplest user experience and focuses only on the essential features.

However, all three phones are devices that use the 2G network and have a micro-USB connector, which practically means that they are not designed for the European market. The offer is likely aimed at emerging markets, where the demand for traditional phones is still strong.

HMD has not yet confirmed the exact prices or availability of the models. Moreover, the phones have not yet been listed on the company's website, which suggests that official market launches will come later.
