E quipped with Nokia technology, the new facility will allow service providers and network operators to test and validate 5G services and use cases.
Equinix reports that it has opened its 5G and Edge Technology Development Center at the company’s Dallas Equinix DA11 International Business Exchange (IBX) data center in Dallas. Equipped with Nokia technology, the facility allows service providers and network operators to test and validate 5G services and use cases.
The company announced plans for such a development center in June 2020. Equinix sees the new lab as a “sandbox” in which mobile network operators (MNOs), cloud platforms, technology vendors and companies can work to develop applications. The first company to take advantage of the facility is Exium, which has leveraged the capabilities of Secure Edge to enable secure, seamless, multi-access edge computing with tightly integrated security and networking features ranging from cloud to extreme locations and individual devices.
