The American president expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the Finnish company manufactures broadband electronics in the United States. US President Joe Biden thanked Nokia on the X microblogging service (Twitter).
US President Joe Biden is praising the decision of network equipment manufacturer Nokia to start manufacturing broadband electronics products in the United States next year. The production of the products starts after the bed change, and around 200 people are employed in the project. The American leader expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the Finnish company manufactures broadband electronics in the United States.
“Made in America” is now a reality. With our historic investment to connect everyone to high-speed Internet by 2030, Nokia will begin large-scale manufacturing of broadband electronics in America for the first time,” Biden said.
The project is part of the $42.5 billion BEAD (Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment) program funded by the US federal government. The goal of the program is to reach high-speed Internet connections in areas where they are still at a very low level. The goal of the project, which affects all states, is therefore to provide citizens with equal access to high-speed connections.
"Thanks to our historic investment to connect everyone to high-speed internet by 2030, Nokia is making broadband electronics products in the US for the first time," Biden said on the X messaging service known as Twitter.
Nokia's position as a lender in the American network infrastructure is already strong. About 70 percent of optical broadband lines in North America are delivered by Nokia.
