BH Telecom, the service provider in Bosnia and Herzegovina, chooses Nokia

B osnia-Herzegovina operator BH Telecom and Nokia have signed an agreement to implement DWDM optical infrastructure.


Commenting on the development, Sedin Kahriman, CEO of BH Telecom, said: "the implementation of the DWDM optical infrastructure builds a backbone as a prerequisite for the intensive (national and international) traffic growth of all existing Internet broadband and multimedia services. BH Telecom and the basis for the implementation of the 5G network and services. The project and the works will be carried out in a total of 41 locations, of which 34 are in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the remaining seven are in Croatia, Serbia and Hungary. Works are planned to be carried out in stages with the aim of completion at key regional sites/centres by the end of this year and the entire project by next year.

"The solution is based on the Nokia 1830 PSS DWDM product, which supports 100G, 200G and 400G technologies, implemented in the networks of more than 100 leading telecommunications operators worldwide."

The total value of the signed project is EUR 6.3 million without VAT.
