A lcatel Submarine Networks Marine has announced the purchase of 2 vessels aimed at upgrading and expanding its acquisition and installation capacity. The two vessels joined the ASN fleet on 7 May 2021 on the Ile de Molène and on 17 June 2021 on the Ile d'Yeu.
Both vessels are undergoing a difficult engineering and modernization program to meet the expectations of ASN customers and the tasks they will perform. L'Ile de Molène is entrusted with the maintenance of our customers' telecommunication cables in the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea.
It is expected to become operational in the first half of 2022. L’Ile d’Yeu will join our installation fleet at the end of 2022 and will be immediately commissioned to install a transocean telecommunications system. These vessels will be equipped with the latest generation of equipment that will enable ASN to offer the level of performance and efficiency expected by customers, telecommunications operators and GAFAM. These 2 ships are operated by the Louis Dreyfus Armateurs under the French flag.
At ASN, our vision extends to all projects so that our customers and partners continue to have confidence in ASN’s ability to think, develop and implement submarine fiber networks in a responsible and sustainable manner around the world.Via Link
