P olice seized 512 grams of gold worth Rs 29 lakh after arresting 38-year-old Mamani alias Deena from Tamil Nadu. He was arrested by HSR police in 2021 for his involvement in reported burglaries across the city and has been in jail ever since. Police said he walked the streets in the morning to mark potential targets and returned at night to break in.
According to the police, Mamani, a graduate of electronics engineering, worked at Nokia, but was fired in 2019. According to the police, after losing his job, he started committing burglaries, thefts and robberies. He even joined his accomplices in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh to commit burglaries there.
