Nokia IMPACT software helps Telefónica Movistar Chile deploy advanced smart watch services to highlight the momentum of the IMPACT platform in Latin American markets. The Nokia IMPACT Connected Device Platform (CDP) authorization server facilitates efficient management of selected smartphone models.

Espoo, Finland- Nokia announced yesterday that Movistar Chile, a Chilean subsidiary of Telefónica, has installed Nokia IMPACT CDP Entitlement Server software in order to offer more advanced features to selected smart watch models and more efficient management of these features.

Due to the installation, Movistar Chile is the first operator in the country to offer services for advanced smart watches with cellular capabilities without being connected to a smartphone accessory.

Using embedded SIM (eSIM) technology, the solution allows Movistar to increase its capabilities to support new smart watches and portable devices with advanced features, including heart rate monitoring, as well as basic features such as messaging, calling and e-learning. -mail without the user having to carry a smartphone.

According to Analysys Mason, IMPACT, or the intelligent management platform for all connected things, is a global leader in device management based on market share.

The IMPACT platform enables automatic zero-touch activation and monitors the entire lifecycle, allowing remote management of networks and IoT devices. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increased demand for remote network management features provided by IMPACT CDP.

Movistar Chile is the latest company to benefit from the IMPACT CDP Entitlement Server, which is gaining momentum in other Latin American markets, including other Telefónica subsidiaries in the region and Europe, as well as various companies in North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
