HMD Global moves production of Nokia phones to Europe
The Finnish company HMD Global mostly produced its Nokia phones in China through contract manufacturers, but now the company is moving production to Europe as well. The case was announced in connection with the MWC trade fair in Barcelona.

As part of the agreement, Nokia will also provide services for replacing the existing equipment with its 7750 Service Router (SR), and for implementing automated transport slicing over etisalat by e&’s aggregation and core network.

Nokia AVA for Energy SaaS automatically monitors network traffic patterns in order to allow operators to throttle back connectivity resources, like base stations, during low usage periods, enabling reductions in power usage. The technology pursues the claim that mobile customers will not notice any difference in terms of network quality despite these active energy-saving measures.
Nokia’s 5G Core selected to support Comcast’s mobile connectivity efforts #MWC23
Nokia will supply Comcast with its 5G Stand Alone Core networking software, including Packet Core, delivering near zero touch automation and ultra low latency capabilities, as well as operations software and consulting services. These offerings will support Comcast’s efforts to deliver enhanced 5G access to consumer and business customers in the U.S. using Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) and 600 MHz spectrum.
Nokia and GlobalConnect demonstrate record 1.2Tb/s coherent transmission over a single wavelength in live network
The 1.2 Tb/s speed was using Nokia’s PSE-6s optics deployed over a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) network using 150 GHz of spectrum on GlobalConnect’s Metro Data Center Interconnect links. Data center interconnection was also demonstrated at 800 Gb/s on a single wavelength over 2,000km, paving the way to single-wavelength 800GE transport across long-haul distances with no regeneration.
