Nokia India supports the country's participation in the development of 6G standards

NEW DELHI: Telecom maker Nokia wants to support India's participation in developing sixth-generation or 6G technology standards in the coming years, even as the country is expected to have pan-India 5G coverage by 2023-24.

An attempt to tax Nokia's Indian operations has been derailed by the Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court dismissed the tax department's appeal against Nokia Solutions and Networks OY. The ministry had approached the apex court against the order of the Delhi Bench of Income-Tax Appellate Tribunal, which demarcated the tax levied on Nokia's Indian operations.

Nokia and A1 Telekom Austria reach 2 Gbps data rates with 5G 3 Component Carrier Aggregation technology

The trial utilized Nokia’s AirScale 5G baseband, a 5G smartphone, and a commercial 5G CPE over A1 Austria’s 5G network. It successfully combined two mid-band carriers in the 3.5 GHz TDD band (n78) and one capacity carrier in the 2100 MHz FDD band (n1) for a total bandwidth of 160 MHz by using Carrier Aggregation technology.

More private 5G networks to be launched in India within two quarters

Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia has said it will roll out private 5G networks in India in the next two quarters and is in talks with a number of companies in the country, either through telecom operators or system integrators.
