Xplora and HMD Global collaborate for essential smartphones and smartphones for the youth

According to Xplora, the goal of the collaboration is to expand into the youth phone market. Xplora is particularly known for its smartwatches for children, which have also become popular in Finland. Now the company aims to expand its product range with phones targeting young (10-15 years old) and older consumers.
Among others, there will be basic smartphones and smartphones on which HMD Global is responsible for hardware development. In addition, HMD Global is responsible for product warehousing and distribution, while Xplora focuses on expanding its ordering services. In exchange for the partnership, HMD Global will receive a share of activation revenue for Xplora's services.

The first products of Xplora's collaboration with HMD Global will be on display at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March 2025.
