HMD has launched the Vibe 2 Pro in India, bringing a 64MP rear camera, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset, and a 6,000mAh battery to the budget smartphone segment. It also boasts a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, 33W charging, dual speakers, and Android 16. The Vibe 2 Pro represents a significant step up from the HMD Vibe 2, offering upgrades to the display, cameras, processor, charging, and audio. Here are the HMD Vibe 2 Pro's Indian pricing, specifications, sale date, and the changes compared to the Vibe 2. HMD has launched the Vibe 2 Pro in India, with a starting price of INR 14,999. The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at INR 14,999 (GBP 118, EUR 137, USD 156), while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs INR 16,999 (GBP 133, EUR 156, USD 177). The HMD Vibe 2 Pro will be available via Flipkart starting October 9. Alongside the Pro model, HMD also announced the HMD Vibe 2 Diwali Edition. The Vibe 2 Pro is more than just an aesthetic refresh of the Vibe 2; HMD has upgraded the display resolution, processor, cameras, charging capabilities, speakers, and software.
A comparison highlights where HMD focused its changes: while battery capacity and the 120Hz refresh rate remain unchanged, the Pro model upgrades to a higher-resolution display, a newer 5G chipset, higher-resolution cameras, faster charging, and stereo-style dual speakers. The display is one of the most noticeable changes compared to the Vibe 2; the HMD Vibe 2 Pro features a 6.78-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The standard Vibe 2 features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD panel with the same 120Hz refresh rate. The key difference lies in the resolution. The Pro model's FHD+ panel packs more pixels than the Vibe 2's HD+ display, resulting in sharper text, photos, and videos. For users comparing the two phones, this is a significant distinction: while the refresh rate remains unchanged, the screen resolution has been upgraded. HMD has also boosted the camera resolution.
The HMD Vibe 2 Pro gets a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz display. The 64MP camera is one of the major upgrades on the Vibe 2 Pro. The Vibe 2 Pro sports a 64MP primary rear camera, whereas the Vibe 2 has a 50MP main camera. The front-facing camera sees an even more noticeable resolution bump, moving from 8MP to 13MP. There is also a 2MP macro camera on the back. While a higher megapixel count doesn't guarantee better photos on its own, the camera hardware is clearly positioned as an upgrade over the standard Vibe 2. The processor also marks a significant difference between the two phones: the HMD Vibe 2 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, while the Vibe 2 Pro comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset. The phone is available with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. According to HMD, the Vibe 2 Pro can achieve a score of over 660,000 on AnTuTu. This is a benchmark figure provided by the company; actual scores may vary depending on software version, temperature, background activity, and testing conditions. The Dimensity 6300 chip also provides 5G connectivity for the Vibe 2 Pro. The HMD Vibe 2 Pro does not increase battery capacity; it retains the same 6,000mAh battery found in the Vibe 2. The difference lies in charging: the Vibe 2 Pro supports 33W charging, whereas the Vibe 2 supports 18W charging.
The 6,000mAh battery remains, but charging capabilities have been upgraded! So, while the main battery capacity hasn't increased, the Pro model gets faster charging hardware. HMD is also incorporating battery-related improvements into the changes made to the new phone. Audio is another area where the Pro model surpasses the Vibe 2. While the Vibe 2 has a single speaker, the Vibe 2 Pro features dual speakers and dual microphones. This provides the new model with a superior audio setup for watching videos, gaming, and speakerphone calls. The software on the Pro model is also newer; the HMD Vibe 2 Pro runs Android 16, whereas the Vibe 2 runs Android 15. HMD Vibe 2 Pro gets dual speakers and dual microphones. Android 16 and Indus AI built into the Vibe 2 Pro. HMD has also integrated Indus by Sarvam AI into the smartphone. According to HMD, the AI service processes and stores data on Indian servers. The company is tailoring the integration to Indian users and languages. HMD has also promised two years of software updates for the Vibe 2 Pro. Furthermore, HMD is expanding the service offerings for its smartphones; according to the company, its pick-up-and-drop service now it already covers more than 18,000 PIN codes.
