NEW DELHI: The Finnish Chamber of Commerce in India (FINCHAM) on Monday said it has appointed Sanjay Malik, vice president and head of the Indian market at Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia, as its new president for the year 2023-2024.
According to FINCHAM, trade between India and Finland will exceed $1 billion for the first time in 2022, marking a significant milestone in the strengthening of the relationship between the two countries.
“India's ambitious growth agenda under dynamic leadership provides a broad avenue for Finnish companies to use their technologically advanced products and solutions to accelerate the country's economic development. Finland will become a strong, reliable partner country as India strives to leapfrog several generations of standards and tap into the potential of Industry 4.0,”Malik said in his acceptance letter to chamber members.
He thanked HE Ritva Koukku-Ronde, Ambassador of Finland, and Jukka Holappa, Country Manager of Business Finland, for their continued support of FINCHAM.
In the letter, Malik outlined four priority areas: sustainability, ease of doing business, market navigation and B2B networking as the guiding program of detailed action planning.
