Nokia's smartphone market share in the UK has grown by more than 100% in the manufacturer rankings

New smartphone shipments in the UK market grew by more than 100% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2022, according to a new report by analyst firm IDC. This has also helped Nokia Mobile’s owner, HMD Global, gain 3rd place as a smartphone maker in the UK market.

In the first quarter of 2022, Nokia smartphones held 4.3% of the UK smartphone market and sold 210,007,000 units in the market. In the first quarter of 2021, it was only 92.8 thousand pieces.

The UK smartphone market grew 3.1% in the first quarter of 2022 to 4.9 million units. Apple and Samsung account for 80% of the volume and 89% of the value. It is interesting to see the new brands in the Top5 which are HMD Global, OPPO and Google Pixel which have not been included in the osto phone statistics so far.
