O mdia has shared its India Smartphone Market Report Q4 2025, which shows that India's smartphone shipments declined by 7% YoY to 34.5 million units in Q4 2025, and for the full year 2025, India's smartphone market shipped 154.2 million units, a modest 1% YoY decline.
Vivo (excluding iQOO) maintained its leadership position in Q4 with 7.9 million units and 23% market share, retaining its top position for both the quarter and the full year 2025. Samsung came in second place with 4.9 million units and a 14% share, although its year-on-year growth was -11%. Oppo came in third place (excluding OnePlus) with 4.6 million units and a 13% market share.
Xiaomi (including POCO) came in fourth place with 4.2 million units and a 12% share, although this brand also showed a -26% year-on-year growth. Apple successfully secured the fifth place with 3.9 million units and a 11% market share.
The report reveals that Vivo’s leading position was driven by its holistic portfolio and strong offline execution. "India's smartphone market is expected to experience a mid-single digit decline in 2026 as higher prices and limited incremental value delay developments," said Sanyam Chaurasia, senior analyst at Omdia.
While seasonality and potential policy support will stabilize demand in the second half, the market will increasingly be driven by cost discipline and channel implementation rather than core innovation.
