R egionally, HMD Global registered strong growth in North America (+ 87% year-on-year) and Western Europe (+ 31% year-on-year), but the company lost interest in the Asia-Pacific region as its mobile phone base converts to users. The company also left the Russian market due to the conflict in Ukraine, which also contributed to the decline in quarterly volume.

In the first quarter of 2022, the Nokia C series accounted for almost half of the volume of smartphones, followed by the Nokia G series and Nokia X series. All other series were completely out of the market this quarter.

According to SA Lens (see table below), HMD Global scored 3.1 points (out of 5) in the first quarter of 2022, which rates the company as a good value-for-money supplier for durability, longevity and regular Android updates. but there is room for improvement in other areas, such as product and technology management.
