Finnish company HMD Global has launched a new HMD Fuse smartphone aimed specifically at children. According to the company, it is the world's first smartphone that prevents children from filming, broadcasting or viewing nude and sexually explicit content, even while streaming.

HMD Global is gearing up to launch the HMD Touch AI - a battery-powered smartphone that recently debuted in China - in a wider international market, including Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and more. Combining retro aesthetics with modern digital practicality, the device is designed to appeal to the growing "digital detox" demographic while maintaining essential connectivity.
To make the global launch more appealing, HMD is expected to offer value-for-money retail packages. International buyers were able to get additional accessories like an 8GB microSD card, a protective case and a screen protector out of the box. The phone clearly draws inspiration from the old Nokia Lumia series. It has a distinctive circular camera housing on the back and comes in a vibrant cyan color. You can also get separate back covers in yellow, blue, and white if you want to change things up.
It’s very similar to the HMD Touch 4G that was released in India last October, but this Chinese version includes AI features tailored for the local market. While the Chinese model uses ByteDance’s Doubao AI – which reportedly works on a subscription model after a 180-day free trial – the international version offers free access to “Taobao AI”.
Furthermore, the global device will come with Alipay integration and a built-in QR code reader, which is a significant step up in capabilities compared to the standard HMD Touch 4G that was launched in India in October 2025. While the standard Touch 4G was defined by its cyan and navy blue palettes, the new Touch AI could expand its wardrobe to include striking white and gold color options.
The recently launched HMD Vibe2 4G smartphone in India is also expected to be launched in other markets by HMD Global, including Australia, Nigeria, Malaysia and Loas, but of course, this device has also been brought to other markets by HMD Finland. The GPU is a Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G octa-core processor, and the GPU is Adreno 610. The device is equipped with 6 GB of RAM, while the internal storage is 128 GB.
On the rear side, there is a 13 MP (wide) + 2 MP (depth) camera, while on the front there is a single camera: a 5 MP (wide) camera. The device is powered by a Li-Po 4000 mAh battery + 10W wired. The HMD Vibe is available in a single color: Charcoal. The device measures 163.8 x 75.2 x 8.4 mm and weighs 186 grams.
