The market for truly wireless earphones is very broad, but they are usually made according to a fairly similar recipe. Sometimes, however, you can also come across a more unique design. For example, the solar-powered solution developed by Urbanista was previously one of these, and this time it was the Amped Buds unveiled by HMD that caught the attention of interested parties, which HMD Global has made available today in several European countries, including Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Spain, for only 199 EUR (GBP 167, USD 216, INR 18828) via HMD's online interface by clicking on the links below.

In addition to mobile phones, HMD's range previously included wireless earphones, and there were some more interesting designs in terms of design. The new Amped Buds, however, are unlike anything we've seen before. This device can also ensure that your smartphone doesn't run out of power while you're listening to music.

The device has a case that not only provides wireless charging for the earbuds, but can also reverse the process. If necessary, it can power smartphones that support wireless charging, and it can also be attached to mobile phones very stably during this time, since it also has a magnetic mounting surface. It is not suitable for fully charging a smartphone, but it can be perfectly used as an emergency charger. A 1600 mAh battery is hidden in the device. Charging can even be shared via cable, if necessary.

The design of the case is also unique, as the earphones cannot be completely hidden inside, but the units fit into the side. The case is only 14 millimeters thick and has a unibody aluminum casing. For this reason, the earphones have to slide into a relatively small space, but the designers found a solution for this as well. The earpiece stem fits into the main unit with a small hinge, so they can be folded flat with one movement, so they can slide into place without any problems.

The 80-gram case is available in black, blue or pink. The carrier has received an IPx4 certificate, and the earphones are protected according to IP54 standards. HMD uses a 10-millimeter speaker in the Amped Buds, and silicone inserts have also been found to make the music listening experience more seamless. Of course, active noise cancellation is also supported, and there is ambient noise reduction for better quality, clearer phone calls.

HMD built on a chip provided by Qualcomm, so it supports the Snapdragon Sound platform. There is also codec support for higher sound quality to make listening to music an enjoyable experience. Amped Buds are compatible with both Android and iOS devices, while they can also be used with other devices. There is Google Fast Pair support and the smartphone can connect to multiple sources in parallel. There is even a low-latency mode available, if you want to play games, for example.

At normal volume, using the battery hidden in the case to the maximum, you can get up to 95 hours of battery life from the Amped Buds. Since there is a huge battery in the case, it is not surprising that the TWS can provide an amazing battery life. Both earbuds can be fully charged almost 12 times in the carrier. Active noise cancellation consumes quite a lot of power here, so turning on ANC reduces the maximum operating time to 58 hours, but this is also quite extraordinary. On a single charge, without noise cancellation, you can get 8.1 hours of performance, and with ANC activated, you can count on 4.9 hours. Due to the special design, there is less space in the headphones, so they only have a 35 mAh battery.
