Finnish company HMD Global has launched a new HMD Fuse smartphone aimed specifically at children. According to the company, it is the world's first smartphone that prevents children from filming, broadcasting or viewing nude and sexually explicit content, even while streaming.

E mma Falck, President of Nokia’s new Mobile Infrastructure Business Unit and member of the Executive Team, started at Nokia today, a few weeks earlier than originally announced. Nokia announced the news on its Instagram account. In early May, Nokia announced that Falck would not start until September 1.
The Mobile Infrastructure Business Unit was created as part of Nokia’s organizational transformation in early 2026. It includes the Nokia Core Software, Radio Networks and Technology Standards businesses, which include Nokia’s mobile networks, core network software and patent licenses.
Justin Hotard, Nokia’s President and CEO, served as interim head of Mobile Infrastructure before joining Falck. Tommi Uitto, who previously led Nokia’s mobile networks business, the then-smaller Mobile Networks business, left Nokia’s executive team at the end of 2025 and left the company at the end of March.
Nokia says the new leader, Falck, has strong experience in innovation and development at international technology companies. However, Falck has no experience in the mobile networks business and will continue to work at Nokia as a key business leader from outside the industry.
Falck joined Nokia from Siemens, where he held several leadership positions, most recently as Executive Vice President of Smart Infrastructure, responsible for product management, development and supply chains. Before joining Siemens, he worked as a partner and in leadership positions at Boston Consulting Group and in several leadership positions at Kone. Falck holds a PhD in engineering physics from Aalto University.
“As physical AI becomes more widespread, networks need to be reinvented. They need to be fully AI-powered to meet the demands of 5G and 6G. The purpose of mobile infrastructure is clear. We want to help our customers succeed by developing the networks of the future that use open interfaces, standards and a strong partner ecosystem to accelerate innovation,” commented Justin Hotard, Nokia’s president and CEO, in May.
“Emma is the right person to lead mobile infrastructure into the next phase. She brings strong experience in business transformation, operations management and a fresh perspective on leveraging automation for global technology companies,” continued Justin Hotard, CEO.
"Nokia and the industry are at an important turning point. I am excited to be part of the team that is building Nokia's future. As networks become AI-enabled, customers need partners who can operate in an agile and predictable manner and translate technology strategies into tangible results," said Emma Falck at the May meeting.
"Our strong expertise in mobile infrastructure across core and radio networks, software and technology standards provides an excellent foundation for the future. I look forward to strengthening our strategy execution, developing new innovations for our customers and expanding the use of AI in the product development phase," continued Falck.
Falck will be based in Espoo, Finland, and will report to Justin Hotard, Nokia's President and CEO.
