D igita and CoreGo, together with Nokia, have developed a new 5G private network solution aimed at improving the visitor experience and operational management of large public events for visitors, which will be tested at selected public events in 2026.
The new solution builds on the parties’ strong experience in 5G private networks and event management: it combines high-quality 5G wireless private network connectivity with operational intelligence. This supports the overall media experience, improves operational efficiency, and improves public traffic management in demanding live event environments, among other things. The 5G private network provides secure, high-capacity, low-latency connectivity across large and complex venues.
Nokia’s RXRM software and a 5G-enabled 360-degree camera with 8K technology provide next-generation broadcast technology and real-time situational awareness for security and operations teams. In addition, drones and sensors powered by 5G connectivity collect real-time data on audience flow and movement within the event area. This improves security, smooths mobility, and supports proactive decision-making.
The solution helps event organizers anticipate congestion, coordinate security measures, and improve the overall visitor experience using real-time data.
"We want every major event to be seamless, reportable, and secure in terms of connectivity,” says Hannu Elomaa, CEO of CoreGo. “The 5G private network, combined with CoreGo’s technology and systems, allows event organizers to see and control things that were previously invisible."
"5G private networks provide the reliability and security needed for real-time media and security-critical applications," says Pekka Koskinen, Sales Director at Digita. "Together with CoreGo and Nokia, we can offer concrete solutions that improve the practical operation of events and improve security."
Via Link"Nokia's mission is to deliver critical technologies to demanding environments," says Sami Ranta, General Manager of Nokia's RXRM business. "The combination of 5G private networks and high-resolution 8K 360-degree video provides event organizers with real-time situational awareness that supports both security and operational decision-making."
