UK, 6 November 2025 – Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) today announced a strategic collaboration to provide enterprises with seamless, end-to-end FTTE (fibre to the edge) and optical LAN (local area network) solutions. The powerful, one-stop, end-to-end collaborative solution features Corning’s passive components and Nokia’s active elements. Corning and Nokia’s collaborative optical fibre solution will address the growing demands of enterprises for scalable, future-flexible, and efficient LAN infrastructures that are tailored to modern application needs and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems.

Most enterprise LANs still rely on copper-based infrastructure, which often requires point-to-point cabling to support Wi-Fi, cloud, IoT, video, and other bandwidth-intensive services. This approach can lead to increased complexity and costs, excessive cabling, and overcrowded equipment rooms. It also often requires frequent upgrades to keep up with technological demands. Optical LAN replaces this legacy model with a high-speed connectivity infrastructure that converges all services onto a single network.

Corning and Nokia’s collaborative optical LAN solution features a long-reach, high-speed fibre network that provides enterprises with higher bandwidth and lower latency. Through this solution, businesses can significantly reduce operational costs and offers a future-ready, scalable network, supporting everything from in-room entertainment to smart building automation.

“The collaboration with Nokia demonstrates our shared commitment to revolutionising enterprise networks,” said Piers Benjamin, EMEA Market Development Manager, Enterprise at Corning Optical Communications. “By combining Corning’s expertise in optical connectivity with Nokia’s LAN solutions, we’re enabling businesses to deploy infrastructures that are intelligent, high-performing, and adaptable to emerging technologies such as Wi-Fi 7 and advanced IoT applications – delivering seamless data and power all the way to the edge of the network.”

“Optical LAN is really a no-brainer for enterprises. Cutting overall total cost of ownership by up to half and removing the need to ever replace cabling is a game-changer. We’re pleased to join forces with Corning to bring this solution to market,” said Mathieu Roberty, Enterprise & Partner Director at Nokia."

Corning’s collaboration with Nokia focuses on the sectors where the demand for modernised and sustainable networks is rapidly expanding. The combined offering is already available across multiple market segments – including hospitality, healthcare, education, and real estate – in the EMEA and APAC regions.
