Pekka Lundmark (born December 9, 1963) is a Finnish business executive and current president and CEO of Nokia. From 2015 to July 2020, he was the CEO of the Finnish state-owned energy company, Fortum. Lundmark was born on December 9, 1963 in Espoo, Finland. He graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology with a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics in 1988.
Originally from Espoo, Finland, Pekka earned a master’s degree in computer science from Helsinki University of Technology. Its President is the President of the Finnish Confederation of Industry and has an advisory or supervisory role in, among others, the Climate Management Council, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering and the Finnish Athletics Association.
He has lived in Europe, Asia and the United States and currently lives in Helsinki. His time at Fortum was characterized by improving resource efficiency and following modern methods of energy production, as well as well-timed mergers and acquisitions. This has led to the creation of significant shareholder value. Lundmark began his career at Nokia in 1990, where he held various management positions. He left Nokia in 2000, joined Startupfactory Oy as a lead partner from 2000 to 2002, and from 2002 to 2004 he held the position of President and CEO of Hackman Cutlery and Cookware in Finland. On March 2, 2020, Nokia’s Board of Directors announced that Lundmark will be Nokia’s new President and CEO. Lundmark left Fortum on 31 August 2020 and joined Nokia on 1 September 2020.
